Wardens are mighty and powerful defenders of the natural world, fighting to preserve the untamed wilderness. Wardens, like fighters, paladins, and swordmages hold the line for their allies, protecting them from harm. In order to fulfill their sworn duties to the spirits of the natural world, wardens train themselves in the use of simple weapons as well as light armor and shields. Additionally, like barbarians or druids, wardens call upon the primal power of the world they protect, infusing their blows with deadly power.

Like druids, wardens are believed to have the power to polymorph into the shape of wild beasts or even plants. How they acquire these abilities is known only for sure by the wardens, though it is generally believed that they serve mighty nature spirits, who charge them with the protection of the Prime and its wilderness.

 - D D 4e Warden

Wardens easily make up for their relatively low proficiency in weaponry with several abilities, such as their extraordinary resilience against debilitating effects or injuries. Wardens can take incredible blows and generally have a high degree of vitality that enables them to literally walk through enemy attacks relatively unharmed. Others are instead so aware of their surroundings to the point of anticipating enemy attacks.

Grey Warden And Cone Of Cold Spammer By Sunscribbler On Deviantart

Much like barbarians, wardens draw on the primal fury of nature to enhance their capabilities in battle. When allies of a warden are injured by nearby foes wardens will often spring into a feral wrath to defend their friends, calling on nature's power to either hinder their foe or injure them. To further enhance their abilities, wardens use evocations, powers fueled by the nature spirits whom wardens protect and serve, the most basic of which include warden's fury and warden's grasp . Once per day, wardens may use these evocations to transform themselves into wild beasts or other manifestations of the natural world, echoing the druid's wildshape ability.A 1st-level warden begins with hit points equal to 17 plus the warden's Constitution score, healing surges per day equal to 9 plus the warden's Constitution modifier, and a +1 bonus to Fortitude and Will defenses. A warden gains 7 hit points per level.

A 1st-level warden begins with cloth, leather, hide, light shield, and heavy shieldarmor proficiencies, and simple melee, military melee, and simple rangedweapon proficiencies.

A successful save ends that effect. The effect will not affect the warden that turn. For example, saving against being stunned or dazed allows the warden to act normally on that turn, and saving against ongoing damage prevents the damage that turn.

Class Acts: Wardens - D D 4e Warden

Martial Warden (5e Class)

If the saving throw is failed, the warden can still make a saving throw as usual at the end of the turn.

Wardens choose either Earthstrength, Lifespirit, Stormheart, or Wildblood. Each option allows the warden to use another stat modifier as a bonus to AC when not wearing heavy armor, instead of his or her Dexterity or Intelligence modifier. Each option also creates an additional effect when the warden uses second wind.

Warden Class - D D 4e Warden

While you are not wearing heavy armor, you can use your Constitution modifier in place of your Dexterity or Intelligence modifier to determine your AC. In addition, when you use your second wind, you gain an additional bonus to AC equal to your Constitution modifier. The bonus lasts until the end of your next turn.

While you are not wearing heavy armor, you can use your Wisdom modifier in place of your Dexterity or Intelligence modifier to determine your AC. In addition, when you use your second wind, each enemy marked by you takes an additional penalty to attack rolls for attacks that don’t include you as a target. The penalty equals your Wisdom modifier and lasts until the end of your next turn.

8 irony When abigail was blaming Elizabeth proctor for being a witch everyone else blames someone for being a witch and that was unexpected

9 Plot summary Act I of The Crucible opens with Salem’s minister, the Reverend Parris, watching over his sick daughter Betty, wondering what is wrong with her. We soon learn that the entire town is buzzing with rumors that Betty is sick because of witchcraft. Rev. Parris had seen both Betty and his niece Abigail dancing in the forest with his slave, Tituba, the night before. That evening in the forest, he also saw a cauldron and a frog leaping into it. When first questioned, Abigail denies that she or Betty have been involved in witchcraft, but she admits that they were dancing in the forest with Tituba. Act II opens in the Proctors’ kitchen. Proctor and his wife Elizabeth mourn that their own household helper, Mary Warren, is caught up in the frenzy of accusations. Elizabeth is afraid. They know that Abigail is behind these accusations, and Elizabeth urges Proctor to go to town and reveal that Abigail basically said it was all a hoax. Elizabeth makes an allusion to the affair Proctor had with Abigail, and catches him in a lie – he told her he was not alone with Abigail at the Parris home, but in fact he was.

The play is an allegory of McCarthyism. Based on this information, why is it strange that we are reading this play while studying Puritan Literature?

The Crucible Characters Flashcards - Protagonist In The Crucible

Salem, Massachusetts Salem was a small town at this time in history. Around the year 1692 Salem was a town dominated by Puritanism. Around 1692, many young girls began accusing one another as witches and using witchcraft. In order to deal with the issue of witchcraft, many accused “witches” were put on trial. If they were proven to be witches, they would be executed.

The Crucible Act One Summary And Analysis

The Crucible is a play about a group of young girls who begin accusing members of their community as being “witches.” The accusations lead to trials taking place in the town. Women and men must stand before judges and ministers in order to prove their innocence. If those being accused are found guilty, they will be executed. The Crucible is also about the consequences of love and being unfaithful. Many of the characters find themselves in danger because of their actions.

Occurred in a few towns across the Massachusetts Colony, not just Salem. Resulted in the death of twenty individuals, fourteen of them being women. All but one of the twenty “witches” were hanged. One man was executed by being buried under the weight of rocks. The Salem Witch Trials were America’s first experience with “mass hysteria.” Many Puritans feared that the devil was sending “witches” into their communities in order to turn them against God.

Sunny with very warm air temperatures, feeling like 27 °C once we account for any wind. Sea temperatures (25 °C) very warm too. Staying comfortable in the water at Kihei Cove won't be a problem, but wear at least a rash-vest to keep the UV off.

Below is a graph of Historical Sea Surface Temperature for Kihei Cove. This has been derived from analysis of two decades of oceanographic satellite measurements of nearby open water. We have calculated the average water temperature variation around the year as well as the extremes that have been observed on each date.

All of the graphs for the surf breaks presented on are on the same scale to enable comparison between locations around the world.

January In Maui

Kihei Cove sea temperatures peak in the range 26 to 28°C (79 to 82°F) on around the 15th of September and are at their lowest on about the 12th of February, in the range 24 to 25°C (75 to 77°F). Year round warm sea temperatures at Kihei Cove climb to their highest in mid September. Even then a rash vest and board shorts should be fine for surfing at any time of year. Kihei Cove sea temperatures are always warm but dip to their lowest in the second week of February. You'll need a 2mm neoprene top or a shorty at dawn/dusk or if it's windy.

Actual sea surface water temperatures close to shore at Kihei Cove can vary by several degrees compared with these open water averages. This is especially true after heavy rain, close to river mouths or after long periods of strong offshore winds. Offshore winds cause colder deep water to replace surface water that has been warmed by the sun. Air temperature, wind-chill and sunshine should also be considered before deciding on the kind of wetsuit needed to stay warm when surfing at Kihei Cove. Refer to our detailed weather forecasts for this information.

In my Pathfinder: Kingmaker Chargen guide, I mentioned towards the end the four classes I would recommend for new players, mostly for their ease of use and utility.

Is a pretty complex and fun game if you get into it, but to really flesh out that advice, we need to take a look deeper into the classes of

Combat Feats - Power Attack Feat 3 5

, with a drawback of not being flashy or complicated. Fighters are a martial class with no magical abilities, but instead rely on their raw feats and passive bonuses to not only go toe-to-toe with enemies, but stay on pace with Arcane and Divine classes. Fighters are a great class for any adventuring party, and playing one as your main makes you a front-line defendant or damage machine if you play your cards right.

Spell Attack Bonus D&d 5e

So for the purposes of this guide, it is going to presume that the player wants to make a pure Fighter and will not be doing any multiclassing. It also assumes the player will be making a standard Fighter, and not one of the three archetype classes made available. Towards the end of the guide however, I will talk about the archetypes, what they change, and multiclassing tips for

In Evil Wizard, you jump into the sassy, fourth-wall-breaking boots of a defeated 'Final Boss' as you face off against hordes of enemies, avoid deadly traps, and solve challenging puzzles in order to reclaim the halls of your castle from the heroes that now live within it!

The Fighter class also has the following class features and bonuses as they level up. All of these features and bonuses are easily found and readable in the class progression section on the character class screen. Archetypes also change these features.

Lakota America: A New History Of Indigenous Power (the Lamar Series In Western History): Hamalainen, Pekka: 9780300215953: Amazon.com: Books

Fighter Proficiencies: The Fighter is able to use all simple and martial weapons, all types of armor (light, medium, and heavy) and all types of shields (including tower shields) with zero penalties.

Bonus Combat Feat: At 1st level, and every even level thereafter, the Fighter gains a bonus feat, meaning the Fighter will gain a feat at every level, unlike other classes. This extra feat, however, must be a combat feat. At Level 4, and every four levels thereafter, the Fighter can elect to replace a bonus feat they have chosen for a new bonus feat, so long as the old feat is not used as a prerequisite for another feat, prestige class, or ability. The Fighter can only change one feat at a given level, and must choose whether or not to swap the feat at the time you level up.

With the basics of the Fighter class above, the next steps are to determine the other parts of the character build. Specifically, we're looking at Race, Abilities, Skills, and Feats for the standard Fighter. A lot of this is ultimately up to the player in what type of Fighter they want to create as well; a damage-dealing Fighter, for example, would look slightly different from a more defense-oriented Fighter.

Limit Break 2 / Alpha Aethers: Guide And Hero Power Search Tool (empires And Puzzles) • Old Cynic

For purposes of this build, I will be focusing more on a high damage dealer with defenses being secondary, but high enough where the Fighter is versatile in their role. We will also not be going into prestige classes as an option for this build, though I will briefly mention them later when we discuss archetypes and cross-classing in

, a lot of races have an advantage for being a Fighter, but the key stats to focus on would also be STR, CON, and possibly DEX if you want to go more defensive. Humans, Half-Elves, and Half-Orcs make fairly good fighters, since you can choose their ability score modifier and fill in the gap as you see fit.

Of the three, Humans are probably the best choice, because of their additional skills and feats at level 1. Fighters are essentially married to feats as their only way of dealing damage and staying relevant from a mechanics point of view, so having additional feats is always a great choice.

I Feel Like I Might've Overprepared. (Act 4, Big Bug In Iz) - Power Attack Feat 3 5

Robot Unicorn Attack 3 Review: One Trick Pony?

Half-Orcs gain the ability of weapon familiarity with Orc weapons, exotic-type weapons that may be worth using, as well as the Ferocity feat, which allows the Half-Orc to keep fighting for a round even after their health drops to 0. This makes them great specialized Fighters who are really good at doing one thing: hitting and killing enemies in a fury.

Half-Elves are probably the weakest of the three, gaining mostly passive bonuses to skills, which Fighters don’t get many points for anyway, and a racial bonus against saving throws that involve magic.

Surprisingly, Gnomes also make decent Fighters, if you plan on using them wholly defensively. The -2 to STR is a weakness that can harm their damage output, but their +2 to CON is a good boon to have, and when pumped with their DEX and considering their small stature, they can be quite effective tanks in

Russia Hits Ukraine Homes, Evacuates Kherson, Warns Of Escalation

. Gnomes also get specialized bonuses, including a Hatred bonus against reptilian and goblinoid enemy types, and defensive bonuses against giant subtypes, plus proficiency in exotic Gnome weapons like the Hook Hammer.

The most prominent and, I would say, best race choice outside of Humans, however, would be the Dwarf, which I chose for this

 - Power Attack Feat 3 5

build. The Dwarf gets a solid bonus of +2 to CON and +2 to WIS, and a -2 to CHA. The CHA penalty is not that devastating for a standard Fighter build, and unless we plan on using persuasion a lot (which other party members, such as Linzi or Valerie, can do better anyway) it can be made our dump stat for the build.

Cybersecurity Trends For 2023 And What To Expect

Dwarves also get a lot of bonuses that make them passively sturdy. They have similar abilities as a Gnome, with a +4 dodge bonus against the giant subtype, a +1 Hatred bonus against orc and goblinoid subtypes, as well as Dwarven weapon proficiency, adding a selection of exotic Dwarf weapons into the mix. On top of this, Dwarves also gain a +4 bonus to their Combat Maneuver Defense when resisting trip or bull rush, two common combat maneuvers, and a +2 saving throw against poison, spells, and spell-like abilities.

This passive tankiness allows the Dwarf to be incredibly versatile as a fighter, meaning I can focus on damage but in a pinch, soak up damage without much of an issue.

The two ability scores that benefit the Fighter the most are STR and CON. Since this fighter is designed to do a lot of damage, STR gets the lion's share of the ability points, pumped all the way up to 18 or as close to 18 as possible. CON should not be far behind in any good Fighter build.

College Football Rankings: Our Top 25, Spring Football Edition

may focus heavily on DEX over STR to compensate for attack damage with the additional use of feats or character builds. For a standard Fighter, DEX should be a secondary stat that is increased by at least one threshold, so 10 to 12, or 12 to 14, to give you that edge.

Primalist Bloodrager Build Pathfinder Wrath Of The Righteous Guide - Power Attack Feat 3 5

Subsequently, INT and CHA are stats that the Fighter doesn’t really need as much. Fighters get a very low number of skill points. Even a high INT will not really change that, since it’s a half a point per INT modifier, so four skill points per level at 18 INT in this case. CHA is really only useful for talking to people, but

Uses the highest Persuasion bonus of the party, so unless you want to role-play a smooth talker, it may not be worth investing in it.

H Armored Angel Build

In the case of our Dwarf here, his CHA penalty is already at a disadvantage, and lowering it to its maximum amount gives us extra points to spend. So STR goes to 18, and we can evenly distribute CON and DEX, giving CON a 17 total and DEX at a solid 14. Since we only have two skill points, putting them in two skills you will likely use the most (in my case, Athletics and Lore (Nature)) is pretty much the way to go, and the only spots where those skill points should be pumped into for most levels in

A lot of feats are good first choices for a Fighter. Armor Focus is one I feel should be taken as early as possible.

. This ultimately does depend on the character build, but certain feats I would most definitely recommend over others. Below are the best early feats to consider for your Fighter build, listed with any prerequisites the player needs to clear before taking it, and why you should take them.

Monster Monday - Power Attack Feat 3 5

Apollo's Fire: Igniting America's Clean Energy Economy: Inslee, Jay, Hendricks, Bracken: 9781597266499: Amazon.com: Books

Armor Focus: Prerequisite: Base Attack Bonus +1. You select one type of armor (light, medium, or heavy) with that AC bonus granted by the armor increased by 1. This is great for all Fighter types, giving you more AC defense and making you incredibly difficult to hit in your armor type.

Combat Expertise: Prerequisite: Intelligence 13. Combat Expertise allows the Fighter to take a -1 penalty on melee attack rolls and combat maneuver checks while giving the player a +1 dodge bonus to their AC. When the Fighters BAB reaches +4, the penalty increases by -1 to attack rolls, and increases

When you play any game, your objective is to win. The competition presented is strategized during or before to come out on top. When playing a game, adjusting your character’s skills and using the environment & equipment to your advantage is one thing, but metagaming is another.

Meta defines the tactic generally agreed upon as the most effective among all, the acronym for “most effective tactics available.” The use of the term varies between games, but the meaning stays the same: You will be more likely to win adopting meta.

 - Town Of Salem Metagaming

The term emerged from the nature of competitive games. Some equipment, tactics, and specific ways to play are better than the others. With players’ objective to win, they are likely to follow the meta. One can only make her game

Some Games Are Not For Playing / The Long Dark Winter Of Gaming

But this is especially hard to achieve in competitive video games. I will refer to this kind of metagaming as“metagaming inside borders of the game.”

Stepping outside the borders of the game is also considered metagaming. A comprehensive explanation of that will be under“metagaming outside borders of a game.”

This type of metagaming is often aboutmin-maxing, choosing characters, or practicing a specific gameplay routefor optimization. Those types of metagamers achieve to be as powerful as possible with the game’s options.

Star Says New 'salem's Lot' Movie Is A True Adaptation Of King's Story

Players build their character according to their desire in role-playing games(RPG) like Dungeons & Dragons, Diablo, Dark Souls, etc. A character is min-maxed when desired stats are maximized, and the rest is minimized. Min-maxing is often considered aspowergaming.

The controversy behind min-maxing is often related to disregarding the game’s role-playing and scaling. Some game developers also dislike min-maxing because it prevents players from exploring the game’s possibilities.

The player is often disliked because of his approach to the role-playing aspect of the game. Playing an RPG game solely for its mechanics is often poorly received by other players since the role-playing element separates this genre from others. While it’s not breaking the game, it’s not welcomed either. Min-maxing is shunned more on pen-and-paper RPGs than online RPGs since they are more role-play driven, and people might enjoy online RPGs only for their person-versus-person (PvP) experiences.

Nancy Drew And The White Wolf Of Icicle Creek

This type of metagaming is often practiced in MOBA and fighting games. Players know which characters are better and which are worse. Despite their weakness, if every duel is winnable with every character, this is not a massive problem besides the lack of variability in fights.

If, however, meta characters are unfairly better than the others, players are either forced to switch or quit playing. That often occurs in games like League of Legends, where the roster of champions expands over time. New characters are usually not well balanced, so the game gets patched with buffs and nerfs. These patches define the game’s meta, where some characters are flat out stronger than others for a period.

In RPG games, a player can also min-max their build to achieve the meta build of the game. More players opt-in for those builds if some equipment and skills are objectively better.

This type of metagaming is often —but not only— practiced by speedrunners. It is about mastering a way of playing that consists of abusing mechanics, glitches, or simply looking up to a walkthrough. Since it’s practiced on player-versus-environment (PvE) encounters, this type of metagaming is usually not shunned. The only harm in this type of metagaming might be for players since they don’t experience the game as a whole/as intended.

It’s no surprise that this term emerged from pen-to-paper RPGs. One good example of this act is playing in a certain way when a character is unaware of the situation. If the player knows the case, he can command his player in the desired manner. In their first encounter, a metagamer can cast a specific spell that his opponent is weak to. His character doesn’t know that, but the player does.

Another good example can be playing according to the other players’ behavior. In games like Town of Salem, learning the playing pattern of other players will give metagamer an advantage. A metagamer can come down on his friends to benefit from their short tamper or interpret the movement sounds of other players in a game where they have to close their eyes for a period.

In short, using anything beyond game mechanics and knowledge is considered metagaming. People can exercise this type of metagaming in almost any competition. If such behavior is exercised in sports or similar events, it’s calledgamesmanship.

Games now make money for gamers in addition to making money for developers. Nowadays, it is possible to earn real money by playing games and play-to-earn games are one of the most popular topics.Ladies and gentlemen, I am breaking from my staid tradition of covering board games alone for game breakdowns. As game developers, we owe it to ourselves not to play simply board games, but video games, social games, mobile apps, and more. For today’s game breakdown, I’m covering the online version of Town of Salem, not the card game.

Pikarom Decks Are Still Top Tier

Got really big in my friend group. We played it a lot for a month or two. There was a time in my life where I was playing three or four hours of it a day.

, except with greater variety, online interaction, and whole, whole lot of metagaming. It wasn’t perfect. The online community was dodgy at best – a lot of young kids, a lot of trolls, and a lot of people just plain dropping out mid-game. But it was fun – plain, simple, really good fun.

A Classic mode game as they were when the game first came out. It’s changed a little since I was really into it and there’s lots of variations on the regular game.

It’s a 15 person game. It’s a game of social deduction, persuasion, and manipulation. Everybody is broadly split into three teams: Mafia, town, and neutral. For the Mafia to win, they mustkill all the townsfolk. For the town to win, they must kill the Mafia and the serial killer. For neutral players to win, they have to accomplish their own objectives. Right off the bat, you notice thatyou can have multiple winners, one winner, or no winners.

Reports On Town Of Salem - Town Of Salem Metagaming

Every night, when the sun goes down, everybody goes back to their houses. The Mafia conspires to kill someone, the serial killer does what their namesake suggests, and the town goes around trying to stop the damage and gather information. Every day, all players start discussing what happened, taking note of who died, and start trying to figure out everyone’s roles. The town then chooses a person they would like to hang and then they vote on whether to go through with it. The Town wants to see the Mafia and serial killer hanged and the Mafia wants to see the townsfolk hanged.

Gruesome, I know. Also a bit of a mouthful to try to explain, but trust me when I say it’s fairly straightforward. You learn what every role does in a few games. It takes about an hour to function well in

Je Music Academy

Consider this, my friends: under the veil of anonymity, with no way to convince people of who you are, how do you – as the Sheriff – convince the town of who’s Mafia? Further, if you do convince the town and the person you saw hanged was actually framed by the Framer, how do you avoid having the town hang you next round, thinking you’re the Mafia or Executioner? Further still, if you’re found to be right, what’s to stop the Mafia from killing you? You are, after all, dependent upon the tender mercies of the Doctor or the lucky guess of the Escort to save your life.

That’s just the Sheriff. From one role comes a dozen questions of how to proceedand how to persuade. Information is scarce, trust is low, and the risk of getting killed for sticking your neck out is high.

Suppose you’re the Jester. How do you convince the town to kill you? Should you act like a not-so-bright version of the Serial Killer or Mafia? Should you type in chat like a child? Should you act really annoying? Should you just wait for a better time? Should you pretend to mistype the whisper command so that your “private message” to someone else that “I’m glad we targeted SoAndSo last night” is seen by the whole town?

Literally every role comes with a complex set of tactics and behaviors that must be mastered. In addition, you have to be able to read the room you’re playing in. Your approach will be different in a room full of children than it will be with adults, as it will be different in a room full of newbies than it will with veteran players.
